About Us

DIVARITY intends to change the way the world views and values the contributions of women to society.

WHO WE ARE - Our Start

We are Divarity, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to challenging systematic inequalities and stereotypes that women face on a daily basis and eliminating the bias against valuing women's contributions to society equally with men. Our organization started with 3 members; our team strives to enhance knowledge about the true meaning of equality. Our name, Divarity, is diversity and parity combined - diversity meaning to include everyone and parity meaning the state of being equal. Meet the team.

WHAT WE DO - Our Mission

Our Mission is to change the way the world views and values the contributions of women to society.

Our goal is to educate society on women in history, including their accomplishments to demonstrate women are just as capable as men and change the education of the next generation to have gender equality as their default mindset. We also want to focus on stopping the silence of women's voices, and speak up on current day issues.

In order to make a change in the status quo we need to start by educating and raising awareness in schools. Our plan is to start off by educating the youth by creating podcasts, writing articles and instigating awareness campaigns and then expanding to bigger projects such as school board presentations and curriculum changes in our schools. Our slideshows, articles and awareness campaigns are meant to inform society about challenges women face that are overlooked as well as women's past accomplishments that have been ignored.

HOW WE DO - Our Work

We Strive to instigate/create/improve:

  1. Curriculum changes grammar, middle and high school in order to ensure that our education systems include more robust information about women’s contributions to history, science and society in the United States and the rest of the world;

  2. Educational and awareness initiatives and programs that teach, inform and/or raise awareness about women’s contributions to history, science and society in the United States and the rest of the world

  3. college scholarships for young women and minorities to support future female and minority leaders and scientists;

  4. support of and promotion for women’s education and careers in science and leadership positions in the public and private sector;

  5. the creation of and support for advocacy groups in middle schools, high schools and colleges to raise awareness, application and advocacy for women’s beneficial past, current and future continuations to society; and

  6. partner with other charitable and educational organizations that support our mission and projects.

We Are Bringing Women's Historical Efforts to Lead & Improve Society to Classroom Curriculums in order that the next generation will have a mindset that values women's efforts and intelligence equally with that of men.

I wanted to be part of a group that supports equality to all because I have experienced sexism from others. My mother has also experienced a lot of sexism as a lawyer and she teaches me to be proud of my gender. I feel is it important to enlighten students and adults that feminism should not be seen as a bad word, but should be embraced to help create an equal world.

I wanted to find this group because I feel like feminism is often misconstrued and people think of it as something it’s not. Due to the stereotypes of feminism it leads people to make fun of women for being “feminists” which is wrong. In order to make a change in society people need to know the true meaning of feminism. Which is why I created this group to educate people.

I chose to join Divarity because I believe that all genders should be perceived as equal. I found it irritating to hear about the men’s achievements growing up, and I wanted to correct that wrong. ALL GENDERS: men, women, any anyone in between or non-binary deserves to be treated as equal. In so many industries, from gaming to medicine, that is not what is happening and hopefully with this organization, we are one step closer to making that equality a reality.
